Savvy Shabazz is a nationally recognized advocate for reentry and justice reform based in Louisville, Kentucky. Savvy has transformed his life after incarceration and has established himself as a powerful voice for people impacted by the criminal legal system.
He is the founder of Life Coach Each One Teach One Reentry Fellowship, a grassroots initiative that has supported individuals returning home from incarceration with coaching, life skills, employment readiness, and trauma-informed healing practices. Through his work, Savvy helps people navigate the barriers of reentry while educating communities about the long-term impacts of incarceration. He has organized and led campaigns such as Voting Rights and Restoration, Jail Based Voting and Clean Slate Kentucky, along with advocating awareness for Post Incarceration Syndrome.
Savvy is the President of All of Us or None Louisville chapter, where he organizes campaigns for Fines & Fees Communication Campaign, Tornado Relief Efforts, Involuntary Servitude and uplifting and developing directly impacted leadership. He collaborates with national organizations such as Formerly Incarcerated Convicted Peoples & Families Movement, All of Us or None, Just Leadership USA and Clean Slate initiative.
Savvy has also recently launched Savvy Shabazz Solutions, LLC where he designed a Life Skills curriculum focused on formerly incarcerated people and people in recovery. He is a guest speaker, keynote speaker, facilitator, panelist, reentry coach and consultant for justice reform. Savvy continues to challenge Kentucky’s punitive justice structures and amplify the voices of those most affected. His work is rooted in the belief that true public safety comes from opportunity, restoration, and inclusion not punishment.
